Dress Up, Dine In

When I was fixing to graduate UF my academic adviser told me that unless I wanted to live in a cardboard box, I needed to explore other things to do with my English degree. True story. The creative writer in me was mortified but it was solid advice. I have not used my degree for anything writing related...until now. On a whim in March I applied to be a paid blogger for Kissimmee's tourism site. Surprisingly they accepted me and I'll be heading back to Florida tonight on our old friend the red eye flight. My posts on the tourism website won't be live yet but I'm going to be cross posting all of the adventures to this blog. Our trip to the homeland was whirlwind and fantastic at the same time. We got to participate in a celebration of two of my favorite people, Sean and Janine. Their wedding was stunning and it reminded you how gorgeous love is. We relaxed by the beach in New Smyrna like we'd never moved miles away. It's a great town made better by the fact that Seth had this whole life before us there. It'll never get old seeing where he comes from. Then we returned to Gainesville, where we started existing together. My family surprised us with a baby shower and we low-key-ed our way to the end of vacation. I rode on that mini getaway for some time and before I knew it, the end of the year was here. Nature decided to get on board with sunshine, I turned in my classroom keys, and vacation began!
